Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer

On my normal typical days I would use a tinted moisturizer rather than putting on foundation.  Foundations is a bit heavier and I don't really tend to like that heavy feel on my face.  In my previous blog I posted about theBalm being my holy grail tinted moisturizer for the summer.  But once the weather gotten colder it wasn't working for me as well it was in the summer time.  Additionally I really didn't like the shade on my face, some how it makes me appear orange than my natural shade.

I decided to look for another alternative tinted moisturizer and found the Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer that gives me a nice dewy glow.  The shade that I tested matches me perfectly on my face.  The moisturizer sets on my face pretty well and hydrates my face at the same time.   Unfortunately the price of this tinted moisturizer is equivalent for a high-end foundation retailing for $40 dollars.  The down size is in a small tube bottle contains 1.7 FL.OZ, which isn't a lot but contains a little more than a regular size foundation bottle.  I hope I'll stick to this tinted moisturizer, but I'm always tempted in trying new things.

I have included a swatch of this moisturizer below:

The swatch that you are seeing may look more orange, but once you apply on your face it becomes natural shade.

Have you tried this particular tinted moisturizer and what do you think of this product?

Shiseido - Tsubaki Shampoo

Recently I switched to a new shampoo, because my old shampoo I was using wasn't working for me. It wasn't giving me shine and volume at the same time. I recently went to my local Asian supermarket beauty section and came upon this shampoo called Shiseido - Tsubaki Shampoo.

The description that I read upon, indicates that it will:
"Enriched with Shiseido special ingredient Tsubaki oil EX, enhance elasticity, repair hair with shines and smoothness. Floral scent refresh you senses. Lather up easily with rich bubbles. country of origin Japan."
This is what I need since my hair is extremely dry and frizzy near the ends of my hair.  I really like the floral scent when I lather it up on my wet hair.  I actually feel that it has enhanced elasticity to my hair by making it stronger.   I was contemplating and want to get to get a hair cut, maybe it's time for a new make over with the use of a new shampoo. This retail for $13.99 where I got it, but prices can fluctuate depending where you get it at.

BOBBI BROWN GEL EYELINER

In this post I will be reviewing the Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink 1.  I heard raves about this Gel Eyeliner that it's long lasting without smudging through out the day.  I tested a few times and I'm truly impressed how long lasting it was throughout the day without any creasing nor smudging at all.  I really like the matted texture that it gives me a thin line finish.  Whenever I'm applying this in the morning it gives my eyes a slight pop.  The reasons why I like Gel Eyeliner than a liquid eyeliner is that I have more control grip than a liquid eyeliner.  I'm not used to the liquid pencil tip and also I made a few mistakes.  I also notice that some liquid liner dries on quickly, which it doesn't give me an ample time to fix my mistake.
  • Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner retail at $21.00 for without tax at Sephora
Unfortunately this Gel Eyeliner is on the expensive side, which I wouldn't typically be spending.  Since I had some gift cards remaining I decided to treat myself for once.  Here are some pics that I took, the packaging is amazing and I really like how simple and elegant this package comes in. Hope you enjoy this review!

Mini Haul Purchase

So I used my remaining Sephora credit to purchase some stuff.  I finally got my hands on Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black ink.  Every time I visit a particular Sephora store that has Bobbi Brown items, the Black Gel Eyeliner are always sold out.  I decided to purchase a gel eyeliner because I need an eyeliner that is long lasting and doesn't smudge.  On a typical days when I go out, I use a pencil eyeliner and realized it has been smudging on me, making me look like a Kung Fu Panda.  Also I realized that the pencil eyeliner doesn't give me a nice thin line rather a thicker one which I don't like.

While wondering around the Sephora shop I saw the Hello Kitty display items, and personally there's really nothing to hype over.  Although, the items are pretty and well packaged, but I don't think the makeup are worth it in my personal opinion.  Anyway I took a picture of the Hello Kitty display, but didn't get a chance to swatch some stuff.

Some other remaining items that I purchased are:
  • Nars Blush - Sex Appeal
  • Bobbi Brown - Tinted Moisturizer
  • Shiseido Tsubaki - Shining Shampoo with Tsubaki Oil EX
Also recently I purchased some false lashes in an Asian beauty store.  I got these Korean brand called Darkness and the lashes comes in two pair per a set.  I got a good deal on these falsies, and so I purchase 3 sets of 6 pairs of lashes for $10 dollars.  Otherwise one set for 2 pairs of lashes are originally for $5 dollars. I rarely use falsie but since they aren't expensive, I just want to play around and demonstrate at home.

Have a good weekend and will give you an in-depth review of each items that I purchase in another post.

Paul & Joe - Moisturizing Compact Foundation

One of the most disappointing purchase I made was the Paul & Joe Moisturizing Compact Foundation. I made a purchase awhile ago at http://www.beautyhabit.com when they had 25% off. Finding the right shade especially online was the hardest because:
  1. you can't test it or swatch it
  2. you can't feel the texture, if the compact itself is moisturizing
I tested this out only 2 times and found out that this compact gives me a cakey look and the complexion shade is too light for me. Also when applying this foundation there's this strong fragrance. The fragrance itself is tolerable, but I personally don't like overpowering fragrance especially for a compact foundation. I also notice it doesn't provide a good coverage when applying especially if you have large pores or bumpy areas on your face.  The only thing that I like is the compact mirror.   I don't think I would like to re-purchase this again. Probably will do a blog sale in the future.

MAKE UP FOR EVER - HD Microperfecting Primer

I got many other makeups on my list, but the only thing I've put off was not investing on a face primer.  I heard that face primer helps you hydrates and lock in your makeup all day.  I don't know what exactly my reasons are not investing on a primer until now.

So finally I decided to purchase a face primer to test it out.  I try not to invest on a face primer that is too expensive, so my budget range was in my $30's.  Without much research I just picked up the Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer in 0 Neutral shade just to try this out.

What it does:
HD Microperfecting Primer deeply nourishes, moisturizes, and softens the skin, creating a glowing effect. Creates a protective layer on the skin allowing foundation to glide on easily and last longer.

On the first day I tested out:
  • My face felt very hydrating & smooth
  • After setting in my foundation it gave me this dewy glow making my makeup lasting longer.
  • I didn't realize any breakout using this primer.
  • It helped me smooth out and minimize my pores around my forehead and nose area.
The texture of this primer is very sheer; at the most I use one pump, a small pea size amount and spread it over my face.  It also has this light floral scent texture that contains Argania Spinosa Kerrnel & Capparis Spinosa extract two types of flowers making part of an ingredients for this primer. The floral fragrance to this primer isn't overpowering at all after applying it on your face.  The floral fragrance will eventually fades away once the primer sets in. Overall I enjoy using this primer so far and hopefully I'll stick to using this primer for a while.  I have included a swatch of how sneer this primer.  Hope you find this review useful.

Paul & Joe Limited Edition Spring Creation 2011

I'm so excited to announce that Paul & Joe Limited Edition Spring Creation 2011 has arrived. This collection is simply the prettiest by far with pastel colors of shades that this line can offer. I personally like every shades of the lipsticks.  I'm so tempted in getting each of the lipsticks shades. However eyeshadow are a bit disappointing, I wish they could had made it into a quad by revealing more eye color shades.

This collection is currently being sold at:
Asos.com and Beautyhabit.com

Recent Purchase for New Year

I'm so backed up writing on my blog.  As for this New Year resolution I made a vow to myself to spend less on makeups.  No more splurging on unnecessary stuff that I don't need, but it's hard to resist the temptation.  I have so many products that just keeps piling up and rarely in use.  Hopefully I will find the time to do some of the the reviews more in details and hopefully I will find the time to do more FOTD look this year.  Been extremely busy and it's hard to manage to get hold of time.

I recently purchased some stuff, and I broke my vow either way cause I still have some store credit from Sephora. So that doesn't count as long I'm not using real money right?

My recent purchased are:
  • Beauty blender sponge
  • Makeup Forever Primer
  • Shiseido - The Skincare Day Moisture Protection SPF 15 PA+ - Regular
Will provide more reviews when I have the time.

Clarisonic Plus

I know in the past,  I've been posting about how I'm been wanting the Clarisonic so badly and wished that I could get this someday.  So finally for Christmas I got the Clarisonic Plus from my husband.  I didn't expect that he would get this for me.  I read mixed reviews that it helped some people and some stated that it broke them out badly.  My main concern is not on my face, but on my upper arms and legs since I have Keratosis Pilaris also know as chicken bumps.  I had Keratosis Pilaris pretty much when I was a child and there is no 100% cure for this, but with the help of the Clarisonic Plus it can help me reduce some of the bumps.

Christmas Gifts

For Christmas I didn't expect anything.  I didn't ask for anything this year, but Mr. H surprised me something that I always wanted for a while and it's beauty related item.   Here are some of beauty related items that I got for Christmas:

I have already started writing a post on the Clarisonic Plus, but too lazy to finish it up and take pics of it.  I will try to post it sometimes this week.

What did you guys get?  Did you enjoy your Christmas gifts from your love ones?
