Happy New Year 2012

I'm finally home!  I went on a fantastic 7 days cruise to Bahamas and to Orlando. I had a splendid time and it was a nice spending time with my husband and with my daughter.  It was so therapeutic and I'm glad that I got an opportunity to get away.

I hope you all have a great New Year.  I hope that we all have a wonderful start of the year and focus on the happiness that we share with our close family and friends.  I realized that I should focus and spend more time with people who truly values and accepts me for who I am.  I'm not going to be remotely depress at all, cause I know there are people will walk in and out of my life.  I faced a lot of rejections and having someone walking out of my life is merely belittling to me.  It's not about the quantity of how many friends you have, it's about true friendships that sticks behind you and value you at all times.  I'm going to focus on what I can and take things easily I can each day.
"Surround yourself with people who will bring out the best in you. If you hang with people who are negative, you will find yourself suddenly becoming negative too. If you hang with people who are fake and gossipy, you'll find yourself becoming fake and gossipy. If you have a boyfriend that makes you ditch your mates, you'll become a bad friend." - BubzBeauty

Hope to own a Gucci bag one day.

Will upload more pics later on, I'm still cruise lagged.

My New Year Resolutions 2012

I know I'm pretty early on hitting up on my New Years Resolutions and gave it a lot of thoughts on it.  For next year I want to spend on time of what I have passion for.
  • I have passion on traveling and planning to arrange some vacation time by visiting my family in another state and more cruises.
  • More bonding with my family and a close friend of mine.
  • Trying to look for good deals on taking some sewing classes and also trying to be a bit crafty again.
  • Less spending on makeups and do many other things that I like to do.
  • Trying to learn to make some good dishes and pastry.  I want to hit back in the kitchen to cook some good stuff.
I'm giving myself some me time to think things throughly of certain things, which I wish not to disclose on my blog.  I wish blogger will set up password protected entry post, but I guess this have to do now.

Anyway what's your New Year Resolutions?  Please do share!

I'm just popping in

Sorry that I've been on MIA lately.   I feel like I haven't been motivated and I had to keep things in order around the home and taking care of my 5 year old.  I have just been so busy and the holidays are coming around the corner as well, which makes things a bit more hectic.  I'm just popping in just to say HELLO and I haven't abandon my site at all.  I will try to update more if I can.  I have so much to share!

But anyway I want to share with you a great article I came across from beautylish.com - Do You Know What Causes Pimples?

Typically I don't break out really bad, but I don't have clear skin that's the saddest part.  I wish I could have a clear skin, but the only way that I have clear skin is to conceal my face with concealer.  This article comes with a face diagram pin pointing what causes these break outs.  In this diagram there are total of 14 zones of what causes pimples on each sections.  I have narrowed down that I'm in Zone 2 and 11 +13
Zone 2
The middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows, connects to the liver. Congestion and breakouts could be related to consumption of alcohol and rich foods or a food allergy (like lactose intolerance). Avoid eating late at night and cut back on the wine and cheese.

Zone 11 + 13 (corners of your mouth)
The corners of your mouth connect to the ovaries, and often break out during menstruation.
I do have to say that it's pretty accurate.  In Zone 2 I am probably allergic to rich foods and yeah sometimes I do eat and munch on sometimes before going to sleep, it's a bad habit of mine.  Hopefully my pimples blemishes will go away before the holiday.

What do you think, do you think this pimple diagram is accurate?  Or are you just curious just like I am and wonder what causes pimple in each sections?

BB Cream Review Part II

From my prior post, I posted about my purchase of a new BB cream that I'm trying out. I'm having a love & hate relationship with my current BB cream that I'm using.  At some time I find this BB creams gives me a white and grayish overcast and it makes me look like a vampire from the Twilight movie.  I feel like I'm even more paler than Edward.  I think it's best that I  use a very small amount and dabbed around the areas where I'm most affected by pimples and red blemishes.  I also find this BB cream a bit heavier, felt like my face wasn't breathable.  Also I find this BB cream tends to run on a drier side.  I like that fact that it gives me an oil-free base control, which I don't have to use a blotting paper to blot my t-zone area.

In conclusion I'm personally not too fond of BB creams, probably because I'm still new.  I still needs some time in finding the right one. I personally think that these BB cream runs more thicker than tinted moisturizers and foundations.

Is there any good BB creams that you should recommend me in trying?  Please let me know by commenting below.  Thanks!

Home Remedy for Treating Lice

Unfortunately this isn't a beauty related post, but this is a good post for those who went through hell like me treating for lice. Lice can be problematic and it's disgusting when even hearing about it or even looking at it; my whole body shutters with fear. Recently I was told that my sister in law and her daughter got lice from school.  So I was advised to check myself, my husband and my daughter for lice, cause these bugs spreads like a wild fire.

The best solution in killing lice is to get a metal lice comb, which is very effective and kill lice instantly. These comb are sold mostly at drug stores. I got mine at duane reade and also I got tea tree shampoo that kills the lice instantly as well. The tea tree shampoo soothes the scalp of your head after being washed. I inspected my daughter's hair using olive oil and did a thorough check on her and she doesn't have it. I checked mine and I got a few nits and as for my husband he got one and it was a pretty big one. I was so disgusted by it that this morning I had to wash all our clothes, bed sheets and our blankets.

I got rid of my lice the organic way, I didn't use any lice kit for it cause it has strong chemicals.  The metal lice comb, Extra Olive Oil and Tea Tree Shampoo should do the trick on killing lice.

What you need:
Here's the instruction remedy on how to get rid of lice:
  1. Dampen your hair first and apply some olive oil on head and let it sit in for 5 -10 minutes
  2. Using the metal comb, comb at the root of your scalp downwards.
  3. The metal comb will automatically pick up some lice. Some lice can be visibly seen, they either look brown or black.
  4. After a thorough inspection wash your hair with the tea tree shampoo.

Hope this remedy helps you on getting rid of lice.
Have you ever gotten lice before? How did you treat yours?

More Naruko Haul

Recently I got the opportunity to visit their Naruko base shop in Flushing, New York.  The store is nicely designed with their lovely Naruko logo design.  As for the inside interior the walls are nicely painted purple just like the same color of their bottles being displayed on the selves.  The shop itself is small but their products are nicely organized and you can try their test samples on the selves.  I didn't spend a lot of time there because I narrowed down what I wanted to purchase.

I purchased their:
  • Naruko AMPM A30 Pore Minimizing
  • Rose & Snow Fungus Aqua Cubic Hydrator
The first item that I got is the Naruko AMPM A30 Pore Minimizing.  I notice that I have a lot of open pores on my t-zone area and so purchasing this can help me minimize my pores. I haven't notice a drastic change after applying this cream on top of my forehead, but I did see a drastic change on my nose.  I see that my pores on my nose are clearer, smaller and more refine than before.  I personally think this cream is worth the investment if you suffer from enlarged pores.  But either way it's hard to tell cause I just started using it, so I'll try to do another post within a month to give you a full depth result about this product.

The second item I purchased is the Rose and Snow Fungus Aqua Cubic Hydrator.  I brought this because this can help me restore my dull and dry face.  I love the rose smell of this and it feels very refreshing when applying it over my face.  Again I can't conclude if this is working for me yet cause I'm just starting this product out recently.

The sales lady is really nice and helpful and after my purchase I got a generous small size sample of the Magnolia face jelly and eye cream.

If you ever do plan to visit the Naruko Store here is the info:

Naruko N.Y (retail location)

No Updates

I notice I have been lacking on my post.  There are some things I wish I don't have to disclose of, because it is a personal matter I'm currently dealing with at this moment. Hopefully I'll return back when I have the time to write.  I wish I have more time to write freely; however, it's been really stressful on finding that right time to write these days.  I'll try to do a drugstore post look of the dupe that I recently discovered.

Also I did a bit of a haul, more Naruko haul that I got recently at their  New York base store.  Will give you a review post of the products that I got, so stay tune.

Scent of a Woman Look

I've been recently watching Korean Drama non-stop.  It's my of my favorite thing to do just to pass time when I have a long day after watching my little one.  Recently I've been catching up this new series called Scent of a Woman starring Kim Sun Ah, my favorite actress of all time.  She's pretty and funny as well, most of her dramas are romantic comedy, but this new series is a bit touching.  She plays has a protagonist character and finds out that she has 6 months to live due to an incurable disease.  She decided to live her last 6 months freely and indulge on certain things she wanted for a long time.  Along the story line, she coincidentally find her true love while she was vacationing at the same resort.  You must watch this series it's that good!

I love her new make over change and so I recreated a look of her.  For this look she went on a vacation and majority of her looks, she puts on very minimal makeup.  She kept her look very nice and simple. I love it when she put her hair up and down. Her curly hair makes it look so romantic in this series.  Here are some of the pics that I capture of myself.  I wish I had a flower head band and bangs to recreate the same look exactly like her.  For this look I curled my hair just to look like hers.

All about hair Part II

The last time I blogged about hair was a little over a year ago.  Now finally my hair has gotten so long I decided to finally decided to get it perm.  I want to go for change and I can't wait for that new change.  After my last makeup tutorial attempt post of curling my hair, I have gotten a lot of complements that I look nice in curls.  I decided on getting a Japanese perm because it helps me save that extra time of redoing my curls each morning.   I heard it's not require to put so much effort into styling your hair once it's perm, so I like to go for that route.  Less styling, less maintenance is the whole ideal thing I love the most without putting so much effort and looking good at the same time.  My current hair style is straight, long and dull without doing any pampering to my hair almost 6 months.  I can't wait to show you my after shot.  The only thing is the price wise is an ouch, but this is my first time doing this.  I can't wait for the outcome and hope it turns out well.  Will continue part III and will give you a thorough process of my new hair look.

Anyway here is my before look of my hair.  Like I said before it's straight, dull and long and in 6 months time frame I didn't do any pampering to my hair at all.   I look like a hot mess!

I posted two images of some of the outcomes that I would like my hair to be perm.

Summer Beach Wave Curls and Red Lips

This is my first time sporting summer beach wave curls and red lips look.  I normally don't wear red lipsticks because I'm not brave enough to sport this out in the street.  But I realized it's a nice and summery look and that I should be confident in the way I look.  I hope you'll do the same; sport whatever look you like that makes you feel confident and happy during the summer. I like this look for the summer, it's sexy and chic. It also reminds me living in the 40's like the Pin-up girls era; sporting their lingerie and also their summer swim wears.

In this tutorial I curled my hair using a curling wand.  I purposely try not to curl it too curly, I wanted my curls to look loose. I used the Remington Pearl Ceramic Curling Wand. This curling wand works wanders and it wasn't expensive at all, it took me about 20 minutes to finish curling my hair.  My hair is pretty thick, so I had section off my hair in order to get this wavy summer beach look.

The following makeups products that I used:

Face:
  • SKIN79 VIP GOLD BB Cream
  • Bobbi Brown Corrector Concealer - Light Peach
  • M.A.C Select SPF 15 foundation - Shade NC25
  • NARS Blush - Deep Throat
  • Dior Forever Powder Compact - 032
  • Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Brick Compact
  • Eyebrow - RIMMEL LONDON PENCIL COLOR 004 BLACK
For my face, I concealed my face with the following items above.  I have really bad red blemishes so I had to use BB cream and Bobbi Brown corrector concealer to conceal some of my zits and red blemishes.  I topped off with a foundation using my M.A.C select SPF 15 shade NC25.  I also set in my Dior Powder to give me a matted look, then used my NARS Deep Throat blush to add some color to my cheeks.  Then I used my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact to highlight my forehead, nose, cheeks and nose. And lastly, for my brows I likely stroke my brows using the Rimmel London Pencil to shade in my brows a bit.

Eyes:
  • Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer
  • wet n wild coloricon - The Gilded Age
  • Naked - Urban Decay - used Virgin & Buck
  • Brown Eyeliner
  • Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara
For my eyes I primed my eyes using Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer.  I used my Naked Urban Decay Virgin to highlight my brow bones and then used paupiere (gold shade in the wet n wild palette) top of my inner eyes and bottom of my inner eyes.  Then using my Naked Urban Decay shade buck for my crease shaping it in a V like format.  Lastly I used cruex shade in the wet n wild palette to top it off over my crease again.  I then lined my eyes using a brown eyeliner near my eyelid and also rimmed my eye at the bottom of my water line as well.  Lastly I used my Fairydrops mascara for my lashes.

Lips:
  • Kimiko Sheer Tint and lip plumper - Pomegranate
  • Bourjois - 01 Rouge
I used my Kimiko Sheer Tint for my lips and ran it over with a Bourjois in Rouge to get the red like effect.

Hope you enjoy this look!

Crystal Hydrating Eye Mask

I always love to try new stuff, especially products from Asia.    Recently I got this Crystal Hydrating Eye Mask from my girlfriend as a birthday gift.  I love the packaging and in this package it comes in 10 packs.  In these package it's contains a gel like eye mask that has a wonderful cooling sensation once you put these under your eyes for 15 - 20 minutes.  This is my first time trying these and I'm excited cause I can save the plastic mold and DIY my own eye mask in the long run using Queenie's method.  I remember Queenie a makeup guru did a DIY eye mask using the plastic mold by making her own eye mask using Jello.

Anyway back on with the product that I got.  I took a few pictures how the packaging looks like and how each packets are nicely package individually.

What this does:
"My Scheming Crystal Hydrating Eye Mask contains Deep Sea Seaweed Bolivian Uric Acid which adds moisture to your eyes, leaving your eyes hydrated all day long. It also allows easy absorption of essence, restores the skin around your eye contour to its oil-water balance level, improves skin elasticity in the under eye area." - From sasa.com
This Eye Mask can be found at sasa.com, retailing for $12.70

New BB Cream

I finally got my first BB cream to try out.  I was debating if I should purchase the Dr. Jart BB cream through Sephora, however, I heard a lot of bad reviews that it doesn't have a strong coverage. I decided to purchase one of the Korean brands called SKIN79 Super Blemish Balm BB Cream VIP Gold Collection through Amazon.  I got this at a great deal and with my $5 dollar off swagbucks, I paid only $8 something for a 1.33 oz.
I haven't tested out yet, but I will try it some time soon.  I did a swatch test and it felt that the texture is a bit thicker than a normal foundation would.  Also I'm not too crazy of the grey cast that it contains and it took me awhile to blend in the BB cream. This is how the packaging looks like, it comes in a gold box.  The foundation comes in a small cylinder jar and on the top it has a pump where you  can dispense the BB cream.  I didn't do a thorough research on this, but was highly recommend through a friend of mine.  Here is a small pea size sample of what it looks like, unfortunately BB cream doesn't come in many shades.  BB creams is more gear to people who are light skin.

Anyway what do you personally think of BB creams?

Basic Foundation 101

In this post I will personally give you some of my advice and tips when shopping for a good foundations.  There are many times that I have invested on wrong foundations and regretted of buying it because I didn't know what to look for.  I thought the thicker coverage it has the better coverage it gives me.  I then realized that the thicker foundation I put on my face makes me feel greasy and it can clogs my pores, which tends for me to break out even more. As time progress I have tried variety of foundations and I feel I have some knowledge and understanding what to look for now.  Personally I like to invest on a higher quality brand on foundations oppose to a drug store brands.   The reasons why I like higher brand foundations is because I get variety control when picking out a foundation that cater to my personal liking.

Looking for a right Foundation 101:
  • Testing out textures of the foundation to see if you like the coverage.
  • Ask yourself is this too heavy or too light?
  • Always find the suitable shade that matches to your skin tone.
  • Make sure that it indicates if it's hydrating, oil free, normal or good for all skin types, which gives you an idea what skin type you have.
  • Look at the foundation tones, do some swatches.  Check if there's any hints of orange, pink or neutral tones to this foundations and decide which one matches you the best.
  • I personally like to buy pink or neutral tones foundation, because I'm a lighter shade or I'm a NC25 and I think orange or yellow hint foundation doesn't suit me too well.
  • Does the foundation break you out?  If so then I suggest that you'll return it and find something else that works with you.
  • SPF or no SPF?  I think it's crucial to get one foundation that contain SPF, if you are mostly going to be outdoors to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
I hope this conclude some of the tips I provided for you in finding a good foundation and good luck.  Have any good and better tips on searching for a good foundation, please comment below.

    Beauty Blender Review

I purchased the Beauty Blender for awhile, but never got the chance to get around to it.  Today I finally decided to put this egg shape form to good use.  First thing I did was to wash the beautyblender with baby body wash and then squeeze out the excess water.  After soaking the beautyblender the little pink egg form shape expand double the original size.  I preferably like to apply my tint moisturizer to the beautyblender when it's a bit moist, so I can get a good and clean coverage.

I squeezed a pea size amount of tinted moisturizer on top of one of my hand and dabbed with a beautyblender and start covering part of my face.  I really like the coverage a lot, a little dab of my Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer helped cover some of the harder spots that I couldn't get to; like near side of my nose and under my dark circles.  I purchased this beautyblender at Duane Reade and they have up-scaled their stores that sells top beauty products like Becca Cosmetics and more.  This beautyblender retails for $19.99 at Duane Reade

    Pros:
    • Helps me start off with a clean and fresh natural look
    • Good coverage of the harder areas I couldn't get to, like side of my nose and under my dark circles.
    • Provide a natural finish and helped me reduce my red blemishes
Here are some of before and after pics of me.  Please pardon my messy look cause I've been breaking out again.

    New Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer

I recently purchased the new formulated Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer.  After hearing the new released version, I immediately jumped into my bandwagon and to see what this is all about.  I heard that this new formulated tinted moisturizer is lighter and sheerer than the original tinted moisturizer.  In my previous post I indicated that the old version has a hint of orange undertone to it, which I wasn't to keen of.  However, the old version has a better coverage and smell to it minus the orange undertone and the packaging.

I put the new formulated tinted moisturizer to the test.  I personally think the formulated tinted moisturizer runs a bit too sheer for my liking and not enough of coverage, also it has a medicine band aid smell to it.  I personally wish that they could combine the old formulated tinted moisturizer to the new version minus the orange undertone to it.  The only thing I like about this tinted moisturizer is that it contains SPF 15 sun protection and the new packaging.

    Pros:
    • The shades run lighter and sheerer without the orange undertones in this moisturizer.
    • Packaging looks much nicer and neater.
    • I like that it contain SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free.
    Cons:
    • This moisturizer doesn't have a good coverage, which is too sheer for my liking.
    • Awful medicine band-aid smell.
What it does:  (stated from Sephora site)
Ideal for normal to oily skin, this product offers a casual alternative to foundation. It provides light moisture, sun protection, and sheer, comfortable coverage.
Currently retailing at Sephora for $40 dollars

Have you tried this? Let me know what you think of this tinted moisturizer.

Estée Lauder - Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator

I received this full size trial from Estée Lauder Eye Illuminator from a survey that I took.  I didn't realized that I was qualify for the free full size trial until I received this package at my doorstep.  I normally don't suffer badly from dark circles, because I actually get my full 8 hours of sleep.   But there are times that I don't sleep well, my dark circles appears to be heavier at some times.

After using the Eye Illuminator it has helped me reduced my dark circles.  The eye illuminator helped my under eyes appear brighter and I felt like it has reduced the puffiness around my eyes and smoothing out my dark circles.  I also like the packaging, it has this unique ceramic tip on top of the applicator where you can massage your eyes with it.  I like the cooling & soothing sensation by rubbing the ceramic tip under my eyes. After each usage I got really addicted to using it cause of the ceramic applicator.  After applying this under my eyes it feels very refreshing.
This is what the product does on their site - product detail

      Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer

In this post, I will be reviewing the Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer. I've been putting it on for a good use, when there are days I don't feel like wearing heavy foundation. I find this tinted moisturizer pretty hydrating as it stated, but without a good moisturizer it falls flat to me. You need to moisturize or prime your face before hand, otherwise wearing this foundation alone your face will look a bit dry.  Also I notice that this foundation has pink undertones, but it's not that noticeable once you blend the foundation out on your face.  I personally prefer pink undertones than orange undertones.  Since I'm a lighter shade the orange pops out more, leaving it more noticeable like the Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer that I have tried several times.  The Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer has a hint of orange undertones, making my face appear a bit orange.  For the Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer, I normally use that on summer days.  During the summer time my shade appears a bit darker than the winter time, therefore I switch back and forth on my foundations.

What I like about the Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer:
      • It is Hydrating, as I stated that you need proper moisturizer before hand or a primer.
      • The foundation for this is lightweight.
      • This tinted moisturizer isn't expensive, great for the price.
      • I like the little bottle, and whenever I squeeze a small amount on the tip of the bottle, the bottle stays pretty clean.
Here is a comparison side to side swatches of the tinted moisturizer of the Clinique and Bobbi brown tinted moisturizer where you can see the pink and the orange undertones.  I personally think it's worth your time in checking this foundation out.  Also if you like to see how it looks in a pictures, please check this following post Spring Cherry Blossom Look using this foundation.

        March Favorites

My March favorites are consist of more facial items than makeup products for this month.   I've been kind of lazy on putting makeup on a daily basis. Typically I like to go on low maintenance mode and only glam whenever I meet up with my friends.

        My March favorites are:
        • Naruko - Niauli & Tea Tree Clay Mask Cleanser - I really like this cleanser because it acts as a cleanser and also a clay mask.  Also this cleanser and clay mask duo helps prevent from getting zits.
        • Naruko - Marjoram and Lavender Brightening Peel Gel Cleanser
        • Naruko - Marjoram and Lavender Classic Brightening Night Gelly
        • New Dior Addict Lipstick in 422 - Tokyo Shade
        • Maybelline SuperStay 24 Color in Timeless Rose
So what's your favorite products of the month? Will try to have these monthly favorites.

Update: Also changed the banner, hope you like the new spring look of the website.

          NARUKO Haul

Recently I decided to purchase some skin care items at imomoko.com.  I realized that I've been really lazy on my skin care regiment,  additionally I have been breaking out badly.  I purchased this Taiwanese brand called Naruko after watching several youtube reviews from fuzkittie.  I heard this brand has been really popular in Taiwan.  I really like that these products are organic, natural and paraben free.  I've been trying to get more all natural and paraben free products now without having to spend  a lot.  Also their products are inexpensive, which I can get more skin care items to try out than just buying a name brand like Shiseido.  Typically just buying one Shiseido products alone can cost over $60 or more. I'm putting my Shiseido products on halt for the moment.

I got three items, which are two cleansers and one night gelly.  I'm not sure why they would call it gelly or maybe they misspelled, because in definition gelly means is a type of dynamite.  I guess it's a misconception of the way they phased it.
The items that I got are:
          • Naruko - Niauli & Tea Tree Clay Mask Cleanser - $18.99
          • Naruko - Marjoram and Lavender Brightening Peel Gel Cleanser - $18.99
          • Naruko - Marjoram and Lavender Classic Brightening Night Gelly - $22.99
As for the pricing it varies from where you purchase online.  The pricing that I included are based from imomoko.com website. So far I'm enjoy using these products, because the cleansers and the night gelly has restore my dry skin back.  My skin never feel so smooth and soft like this before.   I tried a lot of stuff but even Shiseido has not really worked well for me as much as this Naruko line.  I'm so tempted to getting more of this brand in the future.  I will post more review in details in my second post.

L'Oreal - The One Sweep Eye Shadow & Mascara

In this review I will be discussing the L'Oreal - The One Sweep Eye Shadow & Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara.  The palette set that I got is 519 - Playful for Brown Eyes and Black Quartz for Brown Eyes Mascara.  I tried both of the items and personally I like the pigmentation of the Eye Shadow, but I'm not too keen on the one sweep idea.  The reason why I don't like the one sweep idea is because the applicator doesn't fit my eye shape that well.  I have smaller eyes and that it's hard for me to achieve that complete look.  But for those who are always on a hurry this is a great palette for you to try because of the one sweep method which is simple and fast.  As for the Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara I do like the fact that it is clump-free, flake and smudge resistant.  I really didn't see that it lengthens my eyelashes, but I do like the illuminating topcoat that is infused with light-reflecting pearls making my eyelashes sparkly.

Here are some pictures of me testing this product:

New FOTD Look - March 2011

I finally decided to do a look, but wasn't aiming for any particular look.  I used drugstore brands for this FOTD look.  For my eyes I used the Wet N Wild - Silent Treatment and for my lips I used two different shades of the Maybelline 24 hours lipcolors in Timeless Rose and Wear on Wildberry.  In the first pic I'm wearing Timeless Rose and I really like this shades more than the other lip colors I got.  The second pic I'm wearing, Wear on Wilbdberry and the shade is more brighter and bold, which I had a hard time pulling this look off.  Overall it's a simple look.

Products that I used for this look:
          • Reviva Lab Makeup Primer
          • Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer - in Light to Medium Tint
          • Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick - Rose
          • Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner
          • Clinique Concealer
          • Rimmel London Pencil Color 004 Black - eyebrow
          • Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara
          • Mirabella Blush
          • Wet N Wild - Silent Treatment Palette
          • Maybelline SuperStay 24 Color - Timeless Rose & Wear on Wildberry
I'm still new working with my new camera, but I see the difference that it's a lot more sharper than my other camera.  This new camera is harder to operate because I don't have a remote.  I'll try to operate with my tripod in the future.

Reviva Labs - NEW MAKEUP PRIMER

In this post I will be reviewing Reviva Labs - New Makeup Primer that I received a few days ago.  Reviva Labs was discovered back in 1973 by Stephen Strassler, who was one of America's pioneer Aestheticians.  Reviva Labs products are mainly focus on natural ingredients paraben free and most of their products can be found in Health Food & Whole Foods Stores.  Their products are never engaged to test on animals as well.
Product Review - New Makeup Primer
The makeup primer ingredients contains: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), Olive Oil, Coenzyme Q10, Squalane.

The benefits of using this makeup primer includes:
          • Perfect skin by refining the texture. Fill in lines, conceals pores and control excess oil.
          • Help skin instantly look and feel smooth and silky.
          • Helps makeup foundation last longer (safe under eye shadow, too)
          • And  COQ10 adds protective antioxidant action.
          • For any skin type, even oily.  You get the oil control you want, along with soft supple skin.
          • Completely fragrance-free and non-comedogenic (which means it won't cause clogged pores and breakouts)
          Personal thoughts & Review:
I'm amazed that this makeup primer provided a silky smooth clear gel like texture on my face that lasted the whole entire day.  It works great with or without makeups when applied.  I also like that it's fragrance free. Unlike the Makeup Forever primer, the Makeup Forever primer has a light floral scent that contains Argania Spinosa Kerrnel & Capparis Spinosa extract, which occasionally I'm seasonally allergic to some types of flowers.  Also the Reviva makeup primer works well with my tinted moisturizer on top of it, leaving me a dewy glow look in the morning.

This Reviva New Makeup Primer is retailing on their website for $19.50 US

Enclosed are some pictures I took of the product:

          Yu-Be Cream

For those who suffer like me during the winter time with dry face and hands, I would like to recommend this amazing cream call Yu-Be Cream. This is Japan's #1 medicated, vitamin-enriched moisturizing cream. I'm amazed how this cream instantly moisturize my face and hands. The only thing that you might not like is the smell, it does smell medicated like Vicks or this Hong Kong medicated cream called MOPIKO; a cream to stop itching from bug bites. Currently this cream is selling at Sephora stores and online retailing about $15 dollars.

Have you tried this before? What do you think of it?

              Darkness False Eyelashes

In this post I will be posting about Darkness False Eyelashes.  I'm not the type to use false eyelashes and I'm no expert in applying falsie to my daily makeup routine.  I'm a makeup addict but not a makeup expert yet,  I still have a very long way on learning these little tips and tricks.  In those two rare special occasion I had used false eyelashes at my own wedding and my friend's wedding.  I have never applied false lashes on my own before, I let the professional makeup artist to do it for me.  Applying false eyelashes on myself is like waiting for a disaster to happen.

But I'm intrigue in learning to apply False Eyelashes on myself one day on my own. So recently I went on a little mini splurge and got some of these falsie called Darkness False Eyelashes at my local Asian beauty store.  I didn't do any research of which brands are better, but I saw a lot of people been using these Darkness brand on blogs and on youtube.  I'm not even familiar of differentiating the size of the lashes, so I got a few different sizes just to play around with it.  The ones that I got comes in two pairs a set and usually these cost $5 dollars for a box.  Since there's a promotion, so I went ahead and brought 3 boxes for $10 dollars, which is total of 6 pairs of eyelashes.  I can't wait to try these out just to play around with these when I have time in the near future.

              Christian Dior Shadow Palette

I caved in and decided to purchase Christian Dior Eyeshadow Palette.  I see a lot of beauty blogger raving how pretty these shades are and I totally agree with them.  I really like the fine sparkles & shimmery pigmentation that this palette contain. It also makes this palette a perfect on a go when traveling.  The palette that I got is called 809 Petal Shine.  This quad shades are very soft and settling, which makes a perfect combo for this Spring 2011 look.  I see that the purple and pink eye-shades are coming back in and I'm really looking forward for this soft look on myself.  I must remind myself to take more FOTD pics.

Anyway here are some images of this quad:

Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara Part II

In my prior post that I recently posted, I purchased this Mascara called Fairydrops Scandal Queen. This will be my second review of personally testing this.  I really like the texture of this Mascara and it doesn't feel gunky and clumpy at all when applying.   As I stated, the 3 puff fibrous wand work wonders that provides a good sweep to every one of your lashes.  Here I took some pics at different angles that you can see how long my lashes are before and after shots.  I also realized when taking this Mascara off, it easy to clean off without so much effort in rubbing your eyes.  Any good eye makeup remover would easily remove this mascara.  This is currently available at Sephora retailing about $24 dollars.  Hope you enjoy this review and Happy Valentine's Day!

Without the Mascara, plus I have extremely short lashes

Using my camera, I try to take this at different angles.

Rimmel London Glam Eye Shadow Quad

In my prior post I mentioned that I got these Rimmel London Glam Eye Shadow Quads.   I finally received my package a few days ago and haven't had the time to play with it until today.  My personal thoughts on these quads aren't what I expected.  These quads doesn't have a strong hold of pigmentation and felt very chalky and hard to blend in with other shades.  I actually wanted to do some swatches, however, the coverage of these shadows are so minimal it barely shows up on photos.  But for those who likes minimal light coverage and always on a go, it's doesn't look bad at all.   Due to the quad that I chose didn't look great on me but made me appear very sleepy.  Here is a sleepy shot that I took using Smoky Purple and hope you see the quality of it.  The only thing that I really like is that the packaging and the crown motif logo looks amazing.

Anyway on a side note in process to upgrade to a new camera and hopefully take more pics of swatches, FOTD shots and more in the long run.

              Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara

Sorry for the lack of update of reviews. Recently I got infected with the pink eye & having a cold isn't helping much either. Today I went to Sephora and asked if they had the Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara, retailing at $24 dollars and went ahead a purchase this.

Personally, I'm not a really big fan on using mascara and don't have the tendency to wear mascara on a daily basis. After watching frmheadtotoe review about this Mascara called Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara I was tempted to try this out. It stated on the box that this Mascara holds and give you luscious curls all day long. This is a Japan best selling mascara, which was created by a Japanese TV Personality, Aya Yashuda. I really like the 3 puff fibrous wand in an arch shape that comes in this package that provides a good sweep to each and every one of your lashes.  Will try this out and let your know the results in my another review.  Stay Tune!

              Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! I wish I was more motivated to do a Chinese New Year FOTD look, unfortunately my face isn't cooperating after due to a big zit that I popped.  The zit that I popped made it worst and it irritated my face by making it even drier than before. I'm trying consistently applying some medication on my face to let it heal properly, therefore, I haven't been using makeups for the past few days.

On some brighter makeup hauls news, I recently purchased some of these Rimmel London Glam Eye Shadow Quad with an additional $3.50 off with any $10 dollar purchase at utla.com. I took the opportunity to buy 3 palettes because the shades looks so pretty and I heard a lot of raves about this.

The palettes that I got are:
Some how the purple shades are a come back for this Spring time look and additionally I don't have a lot of purple shades.  I'm looking forward what Spring 2011 make up are coming out soon. Anyway will provide more review on these quads once I receive them.  Again hope everyone of a good prosperous and a healthy Rabbit or Cat year.

Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer

On my normal typical days I would use a tinted moisturizer rather than putting on foundation.  Foundations is a bit heavier and I don't really tend to like that heavy feel on my face.  In my previous blog I posted about theBalm being my holy grail tinted moisturizer for the summer.  But once the weather gotten colder it wasn't working for me as well it was in the summer time.  Additionally I really didn't like the shade on my face, some how it makes me appear orange than my natural shade.

I decided to look for another alternative tinted moisturizer and found the Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer that gives me a nice dewy glow.  The shade that I tested matches me perfectly on my face.  The moisturizer sets on my face pretty well and hydrates my face at the same time.   Unfortunately the price of this tinted moisturizer is equivalent for a high-end foundation retailing for $40 dollars.  The down size is in a small tube bottle contains 1.7 FL.OZ, which isn't a lot but contains a little more than a regular size foundation bottle.  I hope I'll stick to this tinted moisturizer, but I'm always tempted in trying new things.

I have included a swatch of this moisturizer below:

The swatch that you are seeing may look more orange, but once you apply on your face it becomes natural shade.

Have you tried this particular tinted moisturizer and what do you think of this product?
